Unlike some outfitter / tour companies out there that claim to be certified, we, at Adventure Seeker Tours like you to see first hand that you're in good hands when joining us on our adventure daytrips.
Below you will find our First Aid & CPR Level C Certification card as well as several sea kayaking certifications and kayaking badges granted to our instructor including brief descriptions outlining what each certification covers. Additionally Adventure Seeker Tours is a proud member of The Green Tourism Association. An association dedicated to environmentally friendly business practices and the overall promotion to eco-tourism in Toronto and Canada.
Proficient in various paddling strokes:
- Forward and backward sweeps, edging, leaning, safety stopping, bracing (high & low), hip flicks, knee hang, draw strokes, rafting etc.
- Ability to use various paddling strokes to combat wind, currents, waves and proximity conditions
- Boat safety and gear requirements (by law, safety & comfort)
- Kayak inspection & entry
Flatwater Kayaking Level A
Proficient in open water rescues:
- Bow Lift-T rescues
- Self rescues
- Tandem Rescues
- Effective post-rescue skills and techniques (support, first aid, etc.)
Flatwater Kayaking Level B
Emphasis on safety, theory, skills:
- Boat control, safety, planning, knowledge etc.
- Focus on kayak skills and drills of various paddling stroke combinations to effectively deal with environmental conditions such as wind, waves and current.
- Navigation, route selection and planning, crisis management etc.
- Group travel and awareness

Certification is honoured by Canadian Red Cross, Lifesaving Society of Canada, and Heart & Stroke Foundation. Your guide is certified and trained in First Aid and CPR for adults, children and infants.

Sea Kayaking Flatwater INSTRUCTOR
This certification grants the individual the right and authority based on tested knowledge and aptitude to certify Flatwater Level Programs and Courses in Canada, in accordance with CRCA and Provincial/Territorial Affiliate Association policies and standards, and in compliance with all laws governing such activities.
A Flatwater Instructor also promotes the development of the CRCA Flatwater Program and the development of Flatwater paddling as a separate discipline of recreational kayaking and canoeing.
